Stop #4 - Capital Fringe Production
THE ROAD TO THE END WINS 'BEST DRAMA'
Most recently "The Road to the End" won Best Drama at the 2023 Capital Fringe Festival! From reading the script for the first time to the workshop, to our production at George Mason University, and finally, to The Capital
Fringe Festival, this journey has moved so many
people, and I am so proud to have been the director
of so many beautiful renditions. It's amazing to
believe that we, as a group of college students, were
able to produce this production on our own and win
an award for our hard work. It has truly been a
DREAM.
Our lovely little road trip has ended, but this work
will always be with me.
See you down the road, RTTE.

Stop #3 - World Premiere Production "proshot"
Due to the success of our story and boundaries the production was breaking through, it was decided that our world premiere production would be professionally filmed. This was a great oppritunity for us as artists to learn and also an ability to let this beautiful production be assessible to audiences everywhere.

Stop #2 - World Premiere Production
The World Premiere Production of "The Road to the End" took place in April of 2023 at George Mason University. This production marked the first time in sixteen years that a full-length student-written production was produced. It was an honor to direct this production and break this boundary alongside so many friends and fellow students as my co-designers and creators. We focused a lot on the idea of memories; our own past experiences, the folklore passed down through generations, the tangible moments just out of reach, and the thoughts that engage all our senses. My concept for the show emphasized the importance of sensing the beauty in the melody of the memories that we all hold within us.

Stop #1 - Workshop Production
After finding out that I would be directing the world premiere production of "The Road to the End", playwright - Bella Panciocco, dramaturg - Jess Singly, and I knew the first thing we needed to do was workshop the script. Workshops are an integral part of the new play development process to edit, devise, and give a voice to a script that had never been read aloud before. As fourth-year seniors in our University's School of Theater, we were surprised when this was a project we had to fight for, but we decided to use the power of our fellow students and mount a workshop ourselves. The product ended up being a sold-out staged reading event which would end up being one of the most successful and engaging events of the season empowered by solely students and an inaugural company that gave life to the script in ways we could never have imagined. This first stop along this journey foreshadowed a constant theme of students taking charge of their art and advocating for themselves along the process.
